Prescreen Installation Guide

Modified on Fri, May 28, 2021 at 1:01 PM

The Prescreen software needs to be deployed on a static public I.P address for visitors to access surveys even when not on the same network. This can be done through two ways discussed below:

Option 1 (recommended):

The user deploys it on a public domain. The user can also create a public subdomain (e.g., prescreen.orgnanization.com) for a dedicated URL for visitors to access or fill the surveys. You can also simply utilize the I.P address (without a domain) of a server you wish to install Prescreen on.

Option 2:

In case of unavailability of a dedicated public server I.P or domain, the user can use an existing public I.P and install Prescreen using port forwarding. Before you setup port forwarding you will need to configure a static IP address for the internal device. This step is important as the forwarding will be set to send packets to a specific internal IP address.

To configure port forwarding on your router you will need Admin privileges hence your IT team will be able to do so for you. They will be essentially creating a mapping table that maps an external address and port to an internal address and port. Through your IT team, statically map the external IP address + port 9003 to the Internal IP address of the web server + port 9003 (port forwarding). Port 9003 and 9004 need to be available from the external network (i.e., Internet) and forwarded to the internal network.

Step 1: Once the download is completed, run the executable setup file from where you saved it.

Step 2: Click "next" on the setup menu.

Step 3: Enter the license key provided by OneScreen and tap "Install". You may contact OneScreen Support for obtaining a license key if you don't have one. (Ensure there are no blank spaces at the end of the key before proceeding).

Step 4: In case of deployment on a public domain or subdomain; enter the I.P address of the server hosting the domain in the field below.

In case of deployment using port forwarding, enter the local I.P address of the device on which the Prescreen software is being installed on.

Step 5: In case of deployment on a public domain or subdomain, enter the domain name (include http:// or https:// before the domain). Incase of using port forwarding, leave this field blank.

Step 6: Enter the SSL certificate, SSL key and SSL bundle (attach them in .pem file format).

Note: In case you choose to not have a domain hostname and SSL, then the website when accessed by visitors will issue a security warning.

Step 7: Click "Finish".
