RS232 Commands for TL6

Overview 


This guide provides step-by-step instructions for testing the RS232 commands for OneScreen TL6.                                                                                                                                                                          

Requirements 


1. Female to USB Straight through RS232 cable

 

 

2. SSCOM software


Process


To test RS232 commands on OneScreen, ensure the following:

1. Connect serial port of the female to USB RS232 cable to the serial port at the back side of OneScreen and connect the USB side to the PC

 

2. Launch SSCOM and set language to English


                                         


3. Now open COM settings and enter these values as shown in the screenshot. You need to select the port where your serial cable is connected to the PC. You can check it by going to This PC -> Properties -> Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus Controllers 


 

4. Enable Hex show and Send Hex options on SSCOM



5. Select the serial port on the ComNum option and click on Open COM


6. Write the command in the following window which you want to test and enter send



7. In this way you can test all commands on your OneScreen TL6

Troubleshooting


1. Serial Data not received at OneScreen side. 

 

Verify that the female to USB RS232 cable selected is Straight through

 

Verify that you have entered the correct port settings, selected the correct COM port, and enabled the options mentioned in point 5 of Process

  

2. Serial Data received at the OneScreen side but the command not working. 

 

Make sure that there is space after every two digits of the command as shown in the RS232 commands table
